Anambra governorship candidate, Chioma Ifemeludike, has condemned the killing of a businessman, Ifesinachi Onyekere. The businessman known as Fish Magnet was killed in a late-night Saturday attack at his residence in Anambra State.
Ifemeludike, in a statement, urged the state government and regulatory bodies to take immediate steps to bring those responsible to justice. The governorship Candidate described Onyekere’s death as a painful reminder of the country’s insecurities across communities.
She stated that the victim’s death will not be treated as a tragic headline or swept under the carpet. Furthermore, Ifemeludike lamented that the government is unable to protect lives and property, which is a constitutional duty. She continued by demanding accountability and action not only for the victim but for the whole state.

Onyekere was depicted as a young entrepreneur, a social media voice and a bright spark from Anambra state. His incident sent panic to his area as he was reportedly shot in the leg before being dragged off in his car.
According to reports, the hoodlums arrived at about 10:30 pm, forcing their way into the compound and fleeing the scene in the victim’s vehicle. The businessman mogul was later found lifeless by the roadside after being in captivity for three days.
Further investigations revealed that Onyekere was trailed by the unidentified gunmen before he was attacked violently. However, the state police command has directed all tactical units to amplify their efforts in bringing the culprits to justice.
