Tension is rising at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), as the Students’ Union Government has issued an ultimatum to the Ondo State Police Command, demanding immediate proof of the death of a suspect linked to the murder of two students of the institution.
The union, in a statement released on Saturday by its Public Relations Officer, Comrade Ajidagba Mosadoluwa Akinbobola, popularly known as Mosa Gold, gave the police a maximum of three hours to produce the body of the suspect for verification, after some news hubs (Not Afrocover), reported that the suspect died following a brief illness.
“We have received reports that one of the criminals responsible for the brutal murder of our colleagues, Annie and John, allegedly died in a hospital,” the statement read.
“Let it be known: we will not sit back and watch this matter be swept under the carpet. We are giving the Nigerian Police Force, Akure, Ondo State, a maximum of 2–3 hours to produce the corpse of the suspect for confirmation.”

The Students’ Union did not mince words in its declaration, stressing that it would not accept vague claims or attempts to conceal the truth behind the incident that has sent shockwaves through the university community.
“This is not a plea; it is a clear demand backed by the collective anger of thousands of AAUA students who refuse to be intimidated or deceived,” the union added.
The union warned that if the police fail to comply within the stated time frame, it will lead a mass protest to Akure, the state capital, to press home their demand for justice.
“We are not asking for sympathy; we demand accountability,” Ajidagba said. “We insist that the police must act transparently and responsibly to show proof, or face the consequences of our collective action.”
The Students’ Union also urged members of the university community and the public to refrain from spreading false information while the matter is being verified.
“We strongly advise against the spread of fake news and misinformation during this critical time, as our focus remains on justice and truth,” the statement concluded.
Efforts to reach the Ondo State Police Command for a response were still ongoing as of the time of filing this report.
Meanwhile, Afrocover earlier reported that the father of Annie, one of the deceased students, confirmed the tragic loss of his daughter and called for a befitting burial and full justice for the victims.
