The Kogi State government has signed a multi-millionaire deal with Pora Films to establish the state’s first-owned TV station. The state government disclosed this partnership through its official website on Friday.
According to the release, the Secretary to the Kogi State government, Dr. (Mrs) Folashade Ayoade signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) on behalf of the Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Odidi.
Ayoade highlighted the signing of the MOU as a historic moment as it formalized partnership that would transform the media landscape of Kogi State. She noted that this collaboration marked the beginning of a new era that would establish the first TV station owned by Kogi State since its creation in 1991.
The Secretary further explained that the establishment of the TV station is beyond broadcasting. It is a way of showcasing the Kogi culture, promoting investment opportunities while giving the state the global visibility it deserves.
Additionally, Ayoade affirmed Kogi State government’s optimism about Pora Films delivering a world class TV station, urging the company to live up to expectations. The secretary further reiterated that the Ministry of Information and Communications would play a pivotal role in the project.
Ayoade explained how the ministry will ensure the execution of the project at the highest level of professionalism.
Besides, the State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo assured that this partnership with Pora Films was a measure taken to ensure that Kogi Television would be operated in line with global standards.
Fanwo went on to promise that the ministry would deliver the project and make Kogi television one of the best in the country.
