Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has commiserated with popular gospel singer and broadcaster, Yinka Ayefele, days after a fire outbreak gutted the Music House, which houses Fresh FM 105.9 in Ibadan.

Makinde, who had earlier visited the station on Saturday to assess the extent of the damage, on Tuesday presented a brand-new Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) to Ayefele as a gesture of support.

The Music House was engulfed by fire last Friday, destroying property worth several millions of naira and leaving sections of the Fresh FM complex in ruins.

Presenting the SUV at the Ayefele Music House, Challenge, Ibadan, on behalf of the governor, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Otunba Ademola Ojo, lauded Ayefele’s resilience and his contributions to the growth of entertainment and media in Oyo State and beyond.

He said, “On behalf of the State Governor, Makinde, and the State Government, we are here to commiserate with you. You are a symbol of perseverance and inspiration to millions of Nigerians. On behalf of the Governor and the state government, we present this gift to you.”

Ayefele, who has continued to count his losses following the inferno, was visibly moved as he received the keys to the SUV.

Governor Makinde praised the broadcaster for his perseverance despite setbacks and described him as a source of inspiration to the Nigerian people.
