Many feared dead as unknown gunmen attack Ondo church

Scores of congregational members of St. Francis Catholic Church, Owa-Iuwa Street in Owo town have been reportedly murdered by gunmen.

The Catholic church, situated in Owo local government Area in Ondo state was gruesomely attacked in the early hours of Sunday, leaving many feared dead and several injured.

The incident happened 200meters away from the Palace of Olowo of Owo.

In an online circulating across social media, several worshippers were seen lying on the floor in their pool of blood. According to a health worker on duty at FMC Owo, Over 50 people have been brought to the hospital.

He stated they are still bringing more people in. As of press time, the number of victims who lost their lives cannot be ascertained. The commissioner of Police for Ondo state is already on his way to the scene of the incident.
