Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministry (MFM) has presented gifts to exceptional students in the school for the blind in Abuja. According to the church, the act aimed to promote academic excellence and show empathy to the less privileged.

The Church, through its arm, “We Care Ministry,” presented graduating students with digital walking aids to support their independence. Top student, Godwin Lazarus, received a laptop, while the second and third best got ₦100,000 and ₦50,000, respectively, as rewards.

Edwin Etomi, the senior regional overseer of the church, noted while presenting the gift that the initiative is biblical. Citing biblical injunction in James 1:27, he expressed that the plan encourages believers to care for the needy.

Etomi continued that the award is a demonstration of the love the church leadership has for academic excellence. The regional overseer adds that scholarship and youth empowerment have been provided by the ministry.

Daniel Olukoya, the general overseer of the church, was also praised for his humanitarian impact across communities. The general overseer is known to have always been on welfare programmes that benefit the underprivileged, regardless of their vicinity.

The leader of the church arm, Joy Uno, described the group as an aspiration inspired by Olukoya to drive compassion. Uno emphasises that the arm is dedicated to social and community development through food initiatives, among others.

She continued that “we care ministry” also supports orphans, the abandoned and physically challenged individuals. This is done through regular outreach, repentance and restoration in Jesus Christ to those often forgotten by society.

Reacting to this, the principal of the school, Hafsat Umar Ishah, lauded the church for its continuous support for the unprivileged.
