
The Nigeria Football Federation has announced Eric Chelle’s 39-man roster for Nigeria’s Super Eagles’ high-stakes 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying doubleheader.
Eric Chelle’s team will face Rwanda and Zimbabwe at home in a must-win 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification round.
In response to the media request, the Federation published a 39 man provisional list early yesterday, the latest list will see the former Malian boss oversee his team’s first training session with 36 international and 3 NPFL players.
However, fans in the country remain skeptical as Chelle begins his first duty as Super Eagles head coach, in an attempt to win a World Cup spot, in addition the Eagels are now behind Rwanda, South Africa, Benin Republic, and Lesotho on the qualifiers table, making many football fans doubt the country’s representation in the next FIFA competition.
The team will face Rwanda’s Amavubi in Kigali on Friday, followed by Zimbabwe’s Warriors at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo four days after.
