President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has heaped praises on Oluwatobi Oyinlola, a Nigerian tech expert for building the world’s smallest global positioning system (GPS) tracking device.

In a statement released on his official page on X, the president congratulated the innovator for making such a laudable project. Oyinlola, a researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the US made a record for developing a GPS tracking device prototype that measures 22.93 x 11.92mm.

The innovation has caught the attention of prominent people and institutions including president Tinubu. Similarly, with the device, the innovator now holds a new Guinness World Record with his smallest GPS tracker.

Meanwhile, the new gadget is tipped to have numerous advantages that makes it relevant across various industries and spheres of life. In his state, the president congratulated the expert on the landmark innovation.

Tinubu said the invention underlines the brilliance and potential of the country’s youthful populace. He added that by building the smallest GPS tracking device, Oyinlola hasn’t only brought fame to himself, but has also emerged as a national pride.

The president admitted that the achievement of the innovator established that with the right support and encouragement, Nigerian youth can become global leaders in the technology space.

He went on to emphasize the need to support emerging talents, stating that Oyinlola’s success should trigger the establishment of an enabling environment that will support creativity. More so, Tinubu said the Nigerian government must invest in the youth.

The president discussed how providing them with good resources can help turn their dreams and ideas to reality. Lastly, Tinubu said the success story should inspire everyone to foster an environment that supports creativity and innovation to prosper.
