The Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Aremu Akiolu, has condemned the killing of twenty three military men ambushed on a military convoy by gunmen suspected to be terrorists in Niger State.
Oba Akiolu gave this remark while receiving the men of the Nigeria Airforce at his palace at Iga lduganran Lagos island.
The monarch urged the Federal Government to ensure provision of adequate logistics support for the men of the Armed Forces to avert a recurrence of such unfortunate incidents.
In his remark, The Airforce Vice Marshal Logistic, Abukaker Yaro Abdulahi, applauded the traditional ruler for his support.
Abdulahi noted that the courtesy visit was to strengthen the mutual relationship between his personnel and the indigenous people.
The event had in attendance white cap chiefs and top Air Force Officers.
In a related development, While receiving the new executives of the Isale Eko Descendant Union at his palace in Idumota, Oba Akiolu appealed to people on the Island to embrace the culture of bagging their waste and dumping them in designated places where
Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) official will dispose them.
The traditional ruler urged the new executives led by former commissioner for justice, Kazeem Adeniji as the new chairman to support government effort in sensitizing the indigene the need to ensure a cleaner environment.
However, Oba Rilwan Akiolu warned residents of the state against dumping refuse in public places to avert epidemics.
The monarch further urged the government to ensure that the state was not littered with refuse.
