Bayo Ojulari has officially assumed office as the new Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd), taking over from Mele Kyari.

The handover ceremony held Friday at the NNPC Towers in Abuja marked the formal transfer of leadership at the national oil company.

This was contained in a statement issued on Friday, by the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd, Olufemi Soneye.

Ojulari, in his remarks, praised Kyari for his contributions to the company and the country’s energy sector. He said his administration would build on the foundation laid by his predecessor.

“We will consolidate on the successes recorded. The tasks ahead are many, but with the support of the management and staff, we will deliver,” he stated.

The new NNPC GCEO said further that he would continue to seek Kyari’s guidance when necessary. “I will be counting on your support. I will need it. I will be coming around to seek your counsel,” he said.

Kyari, who bowed out after years of service, congratulated Ojulari and expressed confidence in his leadership.

“I thank the management and staff for their support throughout my tenure. I will continue to support the new team. I am only a call away,” Kyari said.
