The men of the Ondo State Police Command has revealed that it had arrested three pupils of the Akure High School for allegedly gang-raping a female colleague. The incident reportedly took place on Monday in a bush on the premises of the school in Akure, the Ondo State capital.

It was gathered that the victim went into the bush to defecate but on her way back, the three pupils, Idris Matthew, Olawale Tobi, and Ajayi Micheal, accosted her and raped her.

Also, another source at the school noted that the suspects committed the crime during break period. The source added that the boys trailed and ambushed the victim at a lonely place behind the school.

The source said, “After they have raped her, the girl walked into the classroom with blood stain on her uniform. This indicated that she must have been deflowered.”

The source further explained that one of the suspects had attempted to woo the victim but she turned him down and this inspired him to call his colleagues to trail the victim to the bush where the crime was committed.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Funmilayo Odunlami, also confirmed the arrest. He said the suspects conspired to commit the offence.

“There is a case of conspiracy and defilement against the trio of Idris Matthew, 17, Olawale Tobi, 18, Ajayi Micheal 17, all are students of the Akure High School.

“They lured a 14-year- old student into the bush at the back of the school gate and gang- raped her. The three suspects are in custody”, Odulami said.
