The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has warned Nigerians, particularly farmers, against bush burning as preparation for the new planting season is near.

Pastor Adeboye made this caution during the February 2025 Sunday Thanksgiving Service of the church titled “Covenant Keeping God” as he expressed concern over the alarming rise in fire disasters in the world.

The RCCG general overseer while referencing the 2025 prophecies revealed to him by God, urged Nigerians to pray fervently against fire outbreaks worldwide.

“The number of fire outbreaks worldwide is alarming,” He stated.

“I recall mentioning that Nigeria is part of the world, correct? Any prophecy concerning the world automatically includes Nigeria. God has instructed us to pray. We must pray that the fire outbreaks this year do not surpass those of previous years.”

Citing devastating wildfires in the United States, the spiritual leader emphasized the need for intercession, saying, “We pray that those incidents will be the last and that there will be no more. And if we pray, we can also prevent such occurrences in Nigeria.”

Adeboye further warned against the dangers of open flames, particularly in rural areas where bush burning is a common farming practice.

“When we discuss fire outbreaks, we often think of the kind that occurred in America. We wouldn’t have imagined the destruction a burning tanker could cause. Yet, such incidents are still happening in our land. Please pray about this. That is the first point. Secondly, please avoid using any form of open flame in your surroundings. I hope all farmers preparing for the farming season here in Nigeria will heed my advice,” he cautioned.

Reiterating his warning, Adeboye stressed, “This year, do not burn bushes. Do not use fire this year. Please remember my warning.”

Pastor Adeboye had earlier prophesied about an increase in natural disasters in 2025, including violent storms, floods, and fire outbreaks. He urged global prayers to mitigate these calamities and prevent the escalation of existing conflicts into a potential Third World War.

“The Lord wants us to pray against these disasters and new wars. We must ensure the old wars do not escalate into a Third World War,” he stated.
