The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has confirmed Rt. Hon. S.K.E Udeh Okoye as the substantive National Secretary of the party in compliance with a Court of Appeal judgment.

The decision was reached during the NWC’s meeting on Wednesday, where a memorandum presented by the Acting National Chairman was extensively reviewed.

Similarly, the committee examined key documents, including the declaratory judgment of the High Court of Enugu, the Court of Appeal ruling in Enugu, and legal opinions from Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Dr. Kabiru T. Turaki, as well as the party’s national legal adviser.

However, the NWC unanimously recognized Udeh Okoye as the party’s National Secretary, emphasizing there is no superior court order that invalidates the Court of Appeal’s decision.

Consequently, the committee has commenced the process of transmitting its resolution to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and other relevant bodies for formal recognition.

In a statement signed by the PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, the NWC commended party members, leaders, and stakeholders for their loyalty and respect for the rule of law.

According to the statement, the party reassured members that the committee remains committed to upholding the party’s constitution, operational guidelines, and democratic values to ensure the party’s stability and national development.
