The season seven Big Brother Naija winner, Ijeoma Josephina Otaor, ‘Phyna‘ has called out the organisers of the reality show over failure to release the prize won by the ex-BBN Star.

In a recent letter written to MultiChoice Nigeria, the Acting  National President of the Practitioners of Content Creating, Skit-making, and Influencers Guild, Mr. Miceal Obinna Nwabufo, requested on behalf of the season seven winner of the contest the full compliance of the winner prices promised by the organizers.

The letter claims that yet-to-be redeemed prizes are the proposed Quidax Global-1 BTC =$70,052.00 and Seven-Up Bottling  Company (Pepsi) -1 year supply of Pepsi product. Additionally, Travelbeta-A trip for 2 to Dubai, and Evans Industries (Unik Soap)-1 year supply of soap products are yet to be received by the winner, since the completion of the show since October 2022.

However, the association seeks the quick release of these prizes owed the winner of the show by the aforementioned brands, adding that the association in support of Phyna in a rightful claim of her prizes from the organizers of the show and it’s imperative that sponsors of the Big Brother Naija franchise should uphold their commitment to the winners of the show. As failure to do that will amount in undermining the integrity of the show and raises doubts in the public view.

Furthermore, the president urges for a quick look into the issue that the association will be for long in collaborating with Phyna to ensure the release of she gets her rightful prizes. The association also pledges open communication and cooperation in resolving the issue, and also upholding the integrity of the BBN franchise in the country.

Recall that the last seven previous editions of the show have given many talented young Nigerians the opportunity to stage their potentials and win life-changing prizes and glimpse into the stadorm. From the very first winner of the show to Phyna, each winner has made their mark on the show, and gone on to achieve great things.

Nigeria has a double-digit rate of unemployed youth and the show has been a beacon of hope for many young people. And even for those who don’t win, the experience is invaluable and can lead to more influence.
