According to the Police, the suspects are both residents of Takari Ward in Gashua, the Bade Local Government Area of the state.

Their arrest was revealed by the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim in an information made available to PUNCH Online in Damaturu on Sunday.

Abdulkarim stated, “On April 12, 2025, at about 1:00 pm, Karasuwa Headquarters Divisional Police caught the suspects loading a large quantity of dismantled power transmission cables onto a tricycle in Waro Village, Karasuwa LGA.

“The police command is investigating the suspects and working to identify the source and perpetrators of the vandalism

“During a patrol, the ‘B’ Divisional Police Headquarters discovered an electricity service wire hidden in an isolated area of Maisandari ward, Damaturu, suspected to have been vandalised.”

The Yobe state Commissioner of Police, CP Emmanuel Ado, reiterated the command’s dedication to combating crime and vandalism.

Ado called on community members to remain alert and report any suspicious persons or activities near public infrastructure.
