The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a suspect, Opora Macdonald, who assaulted a 16-year-old boy in Lagos. Lagos Zone 2 Command spokesperson, CSP Ummal Ayuba confirmed the arrest on Thursday.
Reports claimed that the CEO attempted to have unlawful carnal knowledge of a minor, an act against the order of nature, at his Ejigbo hotel. Furthermore, the suspect allegedly added substance into the victim’s drink, after the sodomizing act.
With the substance, the victim couldn’t recollect what transpired. The victim recalled how a friend introduced him to the suspect for assistance.
He recalled how his first encounter with the suspect earned him N5,000. The minor reported the situation to the friend who introduced him to the CEO, who urged him to go back for more assistance.
Consequently, the victim claimed to suffer the abuse upon his second visit to the CEO’s place. However, the suspect, denied claim of sodomizing the boy on his first discussion with newsmen.
In his defense, the suspect accused the minor of being a victim of hard drugs which influenced him to misbehave.
Later, he admitted that he gave the victim N5,000 for swimming and internet games, while denying having sex with him. However, in a new viral video credited to TVCNews, Opora said he only had sex with the minor but not for rituals.
Earlier this month, the victim’s parents submitted a plea seeking justice on the issue. The petition alleged that the suspect, Opara Macdonald, engaged in unlawful sexual acts with the minor.”
Before the investigation, the victim was initially fearful of speaking out due to threats allegedly made by the suspect who confided in his mother.
