Politicians have failed Nigerians – Oyo ADP Gubernatorial Candidate

The Oyo State Action Democratic Party (ADP) Gubernatorial Candidate, Mr. Akim Yusuf on Saturday accused politicians of failing Nigerians.

The former banker made this statement while giving a goodwill message to participants of The Media Conference organized by Primus Media City in Ibadan. He asserts that it is time for the media to start using its powers effectively.

According to him, the Media is more powerful than politicians, hence the need for them to remain nonpartisan. Adding that their non-partisanship will help them maintain their role as society’s watchdog.

While describing himself as a lamb amid his slaughterers, Mr. Akim reiterates the media’s power over politicians. That is, he is a politician in the midst of journalists. Unlike politicians, the media is more believable and closer to the people.

Regardless, Mr. Akim says that his participation in politics is in his bid to fix its many failures.

Recall that Mr. Akim Yusuf had in June become the party’s flag bearer for Oyo State’s 2023 Gubernatorial election. His appointment comes following a consensus decision by the party during its primaries.
