The Nigeria Vice President Kashim Shettima, has urged citizens of the country to reflect on the values in the new national anthem, striving to embody them in their daily lives.

Represented by his Special Adviser on General Duties, Dr Aliyu Umar, he revealed this in the book launch titled “In Brotherhood We Stand” at the Nigerian National Anthem Beyond Melody in Abuja.

Shettima noted that every Nigerian should see the anthem as an “instruction manual for patriotism”.

According to the Guardian, the Wife of the President, Sen.Oluremi Tinubu, who was represented by the Wife of the Speaker, House of Representatives, Hajiya Fatima Abbas commended the author for the initiative to write a book that explained the lyrics of the national anthem.

She said the wordings of the anthem are rich with terms on unity, peace, and progress, adding that it is not just a song, but a reflection of Nigeria’s history, struggles, and aspirations.

The leader, of the House of Representatives, and the Chief Host of the event Julius Ihonvbere, said the significance of this book written by Osere Daniels transcends mere words on paper; it signifies a collective reflection on the national anthem that serves as the vocal embodiment of our hopes, aspirations, and dreams as a nation.

“Having read it myself, I can attest to its merit and ability to inspire patriotism, strengthen the culture of unity in diversity and a renewed commitment to national service,” he said.

Also, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen.George Akume, said the book would fill the current gap in the public understanding and collective commitment to nation-building.

Akume, represented by his Technical Adviser, Prof. Babatunde Bernard, recommended the book for a general readership, especially to the players, the younger generation, and those in authority.

“As a proud Nigerian, I wish to assure Nigerians, especially our youth, that the nation is on track and I am confident in the reforms contained in the Renew Hope agenda of the President aimed at positioning the country on the path to prosperity.”

The Speaker of, the House of Representatives, Tajudden Abbas, said a profound understanding of the ideals encapsulated in the national anthem was a better way of reclaiming Nigeria

The Book Reviewer, Founding Executive Director of the African Centre for Leadership, Strategy, and Development, Dr Otive Igbuzor, said the book would inspire a renewed commitment by Nigerians to apply the values of the national anthem in their daily conduct.

Otive said this would transform them into better citizens who would contribute meaningfully towards building the Nigeria of our dreams.

The Author of the book, Amb. Osere Daniels said the book was his contribution to valuereorientation in Nigeria.
