Teenage Sues Father over refusal to give Marriage consent

At a Sharia Court sitting in Magajin Gari, Kaduna State, A teenager identified as Halima Yunusa has filed a lawsuit against her father for allegedly denying her to marry her heartthrob.

Alongside her father, Halima Yunusa lives in Kasuwan Magani, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State. She revealed to the court that her parent has refused to let her marry Bashir Yusuf whom she’s in love with.

However, the father of the teenager, Mr. Ibrahim who is a businessman, confessed his awareness of the love between the two to the court. He revealed that the reason behind the refusal is that her lover is yet to fulfill all traditional marriage obligations.

Furthermore, He explained that Yusuf came to him and expressed his desire to marry his daughter. Instead, he insisted that Ibrahim must come alongside his parents and important Family members.

The Alleged also reveals that Yusuf absconded with his daughter for three days. Later on, he learned that they both went to his sister’s house. I Ibrahim added that though they were arrested with stern warnings. Yet, This plea fell into dead ears as they both flee to Abuja for two weeks.

Meanwhile, The judge, Murtala Nasir, in his verdict after listening to the parties held that Yusuf’s Father should be addressed. He ordered that the two should get married without further hesitation.
