Terrorists kidnap 50 in Niger village, nine rescued

Terrorists have kidnapped 50 persons from Kuchi, Munya Local Government Area of Niger state. This was disclosed in a statement made available to newsman by Sani Kokki, the Co-convener of Concerned Shiroro Youth of Niger State on Saturday.

According to the statement, the kidnapping ensued while it was raining around 2 am on Friday as. The terrorists allegedly went from house to house to pick up their victims.

Kokki stated the estimated number of people taken away is 50 and no was death reported. He further disclosed the terrorists were trapped by an overflowing river as a result of the rain.

The state commissioner for internal Security and Humanitarian Affairs, Emmanuel Umar confirmed the abduction. Umar stated security operatives have responded.

Nine of the victims have however been rescued. The state commissioner of Police told NAN that a joint security task force including members of the vigilante rescued the victims unhurt.
