President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the extension of the tenure of the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Mrs. Kemi Nanna Nandap, until December 31, 2026.
Nandap, who began her career with the Nigeria Immigration Service on October 9, 1989, was initially appointed as Comptroller-General on March 1, 2024, with a tenure set to last until August 31, 2025.
However, following notable improvements in the agency’s operations under her leadership, the President has extended her tenure.
According to a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, President Tinubu praised Nandap for her outstanding service to the nation.
“Under her leadership, the Nigeria Immigration Service has witnessed significant advancements in its core mandate, with notable improvements in border management, modernization of immigration processes, and national security measures,” the statement read.
The President urged her to remain committed to the Service’s strategic priorities, which align with his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“President Tinubu commended the Comptroller-General for her exemplary leadership and urged her to continue dedicating herself to the Service’s strategic priorities,” Onanuga stated.
The President also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the Nigeria Immigration Service in fulfilling its mandate.
“The President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the Nigeria Immigration Service in protecting Nigeria’s territorial integrity and promoting safe, legal, and orderly migration,” the statement added.
