The Central Results Delivery And Coordination Unit (CDCU) will present a ministerial assessment report to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This assessment will focus on the performance of ministers for the first quarter of the president’s administration, on May 29, 2025.
One of the president’s aides disclosed that ineffective ministries are already feeling the heat of renewed scrutiny. The anonymous official adds that CDCU is currently verifying performance reports of the various government ministries and assigning them scores.
The document is expected to provide Tinubu with up-to-date information on the performance of his cabinet members. Also, the report will help the president to engage some of his ministers in areas of improvement when necessary.
Informed sources expressed that each ministry uploaded evidence of projects and policy milestones to the agency’s portal last month. Following this, the agency leader, Hadiza Usman, alongside his team, has been reviewing and assigning scores to the minister’s performance.

According to report, Usman is working to transmit the minister’s report to the president’s desk as soon as possible. An insider who was asked about the minister’s performance disclosed that the performance of many ministers is average.
The official adds that one minister who has done fairly well is the minister of works and few others.
“Office Will Be Retained Based On Performance” – President Bola Tinubu
Tinubu, during his cabinet retreat in 2023, revealed that his ministers would only retain their offices based on performance. The president disclosed that the performance will be reviewed quarterly, noting that the office is not an island for anyone.
Last year, Tinubu restructured his cabinet and some ministers were asked to leave while others were reassigned to other portfolios. The CDCU was applauded for the re-organization that led to the removal of two underperforming ministers.
CDCU was established in June 2023 with Hadiza Bala Usman, as the special adviser on policy and coordination.
