In a bulletin signed by the Deputy Registrar, Students’ Affairs, Mrs Moses Opaleke, the notification of his expulsion was made available to journalists on Wednesday January 23, 2024 in an announcement titled “Re: Allegation of misconduct against Balogun, Matthew Adeboye” with the reference number: UIL/SAO/2024/01.

It was also noted that he failed to appear before the students’ disciplinary committee on October 16, 2023 before he made himself available at the second sitting held on October 19,2023 where he admitted to have committed the assault.
