A former PDP Presidential aspirant and Executive Governor of Rivers, Nyesom Wike has pledged support for the new candidate of the party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Recall that Atiku Abubakar emerged as the presidential candidate of the PDP on Saturday after edging past his main rival, Nyesom Wike with 374 votes.

Atiku, however, met Wike in his Abuja residence yesterday morning in a bid to reconcile their differences and forge a common front toward challenging the ruling All Progressive Congress in 2023.

A few hours after the visit, Wike tweeted; “I made a vow to the PDP that I will support whoever emerges from the #PDPPresidentialPrimaries and I am not going to go back on my word.

We cannot abandon the @OfficialPDPNig, we will be fully supporting H.E @atiku.”
