The Yobe State Government has supported 127 newly admitted students of the Nigerian Law School with tuition fees and laptops.

Every one of the law graduates on Wednesday, received N475,000 and a laptop to facilitate their studies.

During the presentation ceremony, the State Governor, Mai Mala Buni stressed that his administration is committed to improving the quality of education. He noted that the 127 scholarships are in addition to the over 38,000 students who have benefitted from the state scholarship scheme both home and abroad.

Buni added that the event would be the fourth consecutive time this administration has granted scholarships to law students in the Nigerian Law School. He even emphasized that the government also extends its initiatives to other students and fields.

According to the Governor, his administration is working to provide employment opportunities for youths who graduated in medicine and related fields from Indian universities. Buni disclosed that the government has employed 140 out of 189 graduates, with steps to absorb the remaining 49 soon.

However, he urged the students to always abide by the rules and regulations of the institution. Buni stressed that they should avoid issues that are detrimental to their studies and remain good ambassadors of the state.

He went on to reaffirm to the public that the government will further prioritize education and aid citizens to pursue education at all levels.

The initiative is part of the Recovery Through Education and Scholarships framework, which seeks to equip young people in Yobe with the skills and knowledge needed to drive socio-economic growth.
