Unidentified gunmen have murdered and beheaded a former Anambra lawmaker, identified as Honorable Nelson Emeka Achukwu.

The state police command confirmed the tragic development to newsmen on Wednesday.

This is becoming barely a month after gunmen murdered and beheaded a serving lawmaker in the Anambra state house of assembly.

According to reports, Achukwu was abducted along with his aide on May 15, 2022, and has now been killed despite receiving a ransom from his immediate family.

The police command through its spokesperson, Ikenga Tochukwu, said the head of the victim was found between the boundary of Uke and Ukpor communities.
