The Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) through its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, has dismissed the allegations of President Muhammadu Buhari. The President accused the group of vandalizing pipelines, a claim Powerful described as a ludicrous declaration.

Responding to Buhari’s allegation, the IPOB spokesman said that such a statement is “humorous” and “laughable.” He stated the group’s major attention has been on the actualization of the sovereign state of Biafra. He added that IPOB is excitingly waiting for Buhari’s feedback and would reply to him appropriately.

During an interview with Bloomberg, President Muhammadu Buhari alleged the group of Vandalizing pipelines and other infrastructures. He recalled how his regime has been working to remove fuel subsidies since 2021. To his disappointment, the impact hasn’t been felt due to the continuous damages inflicted on pipelines across the country.

Furthermore, Buhari lamented that the illicit act has hindered the oil production capacity of Nigeria. However, he revealed that the country has doubled its efforts towards curbing the menace with a strong warning to IPOB to desist from such acts.

Lastly, Buhari disclosed how his administration has been working effortlessly to ensure stability and protect the citizens of the country. He concluded that the government is winning the war against pipeline vandalism, while he’s expecting such victory to reflect an increase in Nigeria’s oil production.
