The Organized labour strike has blocked all entry points to the domestic terminal of Murtala Muhammed International Airport, stranding passengers.
This is due to the ongoing industrial strike by the Nigerian Labour congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), suspending all flight operations in the airports.
Organized labour insisted for a strike on Sunday, as the last meeting with the federal government failed to prevent the walkout.
The labour is proposing N 494,000 as the new minimum wage and the Government is offering N60,000.
The minister of information and National orientation, Mohammed Idris, later disclosed that the commutative amount of the N494,000 demanded by the labor union is N9.5 trillion.
He further explained that the amount (9.5trillion) will destabilize the country economy and the distrust the welfare of over 200 million citizens.
Organized labour refused to back down from their strike planned for June 3. The final meeting with the federal government proved futile, as the unions insisted on going ahead with the walkout.
The TUC president, Festus Osifo disclosed they can’t just call off the strike because they have to consult other bodies.
