Airtel Kenya has launched its ‘Smarta Bundles’ offering that will address both the communications and mobile money needs of customers.

The fastest growing telecommunications and mobile money services provider in Kenya, launched this offer on February 13, 2025. Further, Airtel claimed that the innovation is a way of providing its customers with a ‘Smarta’ way of living.

The firm described the initiative as an avenue to meet users’ communication and monetary needs under one comprehensive package.

According to Businesstoday, the Smarta Bundle’s packages provide enhanced amounts of resources for SMS, Data, voice calling minutes to any network. Not only that, subscribers will also receive 100% of the transaction fees as airtime when transferring money from their bank to their Airtel Money wallet.

Additionally, Airtel narrated that transactions between users will be free. The telecommunication company established that payment of goods and services through the platform will be at zero cost.

It is important to note that another innovative feature introduced on the Smarta Bundles is the daily allocation of data. As reported, it allows any unused data to roll over to the next day, compounding until the expiry of the bundle’s validity period.

Furthermore, insights on customer consumption trends revealed that the majority of customers subscribe to daily individual packages of voice, data and SMS. Airtel said it is a bit stressful for subscribers to keep track of their expiration.

Accordingly, Airtel explained that Smarta Bundle will ensure a convenient way of staying online without worrying about disconnections.

However, Airel said the initiative will not only address the connectivity and communication needs of subscribers, it will also ensure that their financial needs are met.

Sidenote on Airtel

Meanwhile, Airtel Kenya has introduced a new Progressive Web App (PWA), Airtel Lite, designed to offer a lighter, faster, and more accessible self-care experience for users.

More so, the company made the disclosure in a statement on February 10, 2025. Similarly, the multinational firm also affirmed that customers would enjoy zero data usage while using Airtel Lite.

Notably, the new app offers offline access to key services without the need for data bundles, similarly to My Airtel app.

The statement further revealed that the new app requires zero storage space on phones, considering how lack of adequate storage space is a big issue for users.

In addition, the Airtel Lite app will cover all key customer services accessed through USSD which includes recharging, checking balance, purchasing bundles and goods, sending money and access to transaction history.
