A member of a vigilante group has been stoned to death by a mob in Abuja over an alleged blasphemous statement.

The tragic incident happened on Saturday after the vigilante group guarding the Timber Shed market at the Abuja Federal Housing Estate attempted to nab some residents working indiscriminately around the market on Saturday.

The people in the community reportedly begged the group to free the individuals in the name of Allah.

As reported, it was in the view of this that one of the vigilantes got annoyed and made statements alleged to be blasphemous.

The vigilante was beaten, stoned, and set a blazer by the mob.
