EFCC Urges Students to Embrace Integrity, Shun Corruption

The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has urged students across Nigeria to uphold the values of transparency, accountability, and integrity while rejecting all forms of corruption and financial crimes.

Olukoyede made this call on Thursday, when students of Redeemer Private Secondary School visited the EFCC’s corporate headquarters in Abuja on a study tour.

According to a statement made available by the EFCC Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale on the X official website of the agency today, said, Olukoyede, represented by the Head of the Creative Communications Unit, Assistant Commander of the EFCC (ACE I) Chris Oluka, he emphasized the importance of honesty and accountability in nation-building.

“Economic and financial crimes are major challenges that sabotage the economy and financial stability of our country. As young individuals, you must embrace honesty, transparency, and truth while being accountable for your actions,” Oluka stated.

However he encouraged the students to serve as ambassadors against corruption by educating their peers on the dangers of financial crimes. He stressed that corruption offers no long-term benefits and urged them to always choose integrity.

Also speaking at the event, the Head of the EFCC’s Enlightenment and Reorientation Unit, ACE II Aisha Muhammed, highlighted the commission’s mandate and called on the students to actively participate in the anti-corruption campaign.

“You have a responsibility to speak up whenever you witness economic or financial crimes. If you see something, say something,” she advised.

Inspector of the EFCC and cybercrime officer, IE Eniola Kayode, warned the students about the dangers of cybercrime. He urged them to be cautious of their activities on social media and the internet to avoid falling into fraudulent schemes.
