Former Governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari has been arrested by the Economic And Financial Crimes Commission EFCC. The arrest manifested after rumors emerge that the Ex-Governor has a connection with an ongoing N80 billion case.

Recall that the EFCC recently arrest the Accountant-General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris. Reports have it that Abdulaziz Yari is a close ally of the suspended Accountant-General. Though, these claims are yet to be affirmed by the Anti-graft agency officially.

Nevertheless, The Spokesman of EFCC Wilson Uwujaren confirmed that Yari is currently in the confines of EFCC. The recent arrest counts for the second time the EFCC will arrest Yari. The former Governor at a time became arrested over irregular financial handling during his administration.

Further, Uwujaren also revealed that the arrest of the Ex-Governor of Zamfara State has no connection with the previous arrest. Yet, He resisted questioning to confirm it truly the fresh arrest has connections with the AGF’s case.
