Hilda Bacci yet to win the Guinness book of record

The Guinness World Records is yet to certify Nigerian Chef, Hilda Bacci for her attempt to break the longest cooking marathon by an individual. The organization, through its official Twitter page, revealed that the chef’s work was monitored online. And promised that all evidence will now be reviewed. The tweet reads ” We’re aware of this amazing record attempt, we need to review all the evidence first before officially confirming a record”.

Winning a Guinness World Record

Before an Award can be presented by Guinness World Record to any individual, a thorough check must be done. All the rules and regulations guiding a new record-setting event must be duly followed. Some of these rules and regulations include being measurable, and relatively universal. Also, the record applications must be verifiable, and measured with accuracy. It must be recorded with credible witnesses who are not related to the individual or group involved.

Furthermore, to set or break a Guinness World Record, applicants must provide evidence of their attempt. This includes photographs, videos, independent witnesses, and expert adjudicators. All these will be used to verify the attempt’s validity. After this evidence has been submitted, the organization then goes on to assess the record applications. This assessment will be based on factors, such as the significance of the achievement, its uniqueness, and the challenge involved.

Hilda Baci is a 27-year-old Nigerian Chef who hails from Akwa Ibom State. She owns a Food brand in Lagos called My Food by Hilda. The Chef began her cooking marathon tagged Cook-a-ton on Thursday, May 11th, and completed it on Monday, May 15th. During the cooking Marathon, Baci cooked a total of 35 cold dishes, side dishes, sauces, and soups within 100 hours. The cooking challenge took place at Amore Gardens, Lekki, Lagos State.

Various dignitaries were at the venue of the occasion to cheer Chef Baci. Among them is the executive Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo Olu. The President-Elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu also congratulated her on his official Twitter Page. Other celebrities such as Eniola, Dremo, and Akpabio, among others, were at the venue to taste the food.
