One of the inmate who escaped from the Kuje Correctional Centre in the Federal Capital Territory, Haruna Sunday, has been arrested for allegedly stealing property from a house in the Masaka community, in the Karu Local Government Area of the state.

The State Police Command has confirmed the development through its Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, on Wednesday.

According to the report, the suspect allegedly broke into the apartment on Thursday, June 8, and stole some mobile phones and television.

Nansel said “the suspect confessed to have escaped from Kuje Correctional Centre when it was attacked in 2022.” He noted that the suspect would be handed over to the Nigeria Correctional Service for further action.

The suspect was said to be awaiting trial before the attack that paved the way for his escape in 2022.
