Ladoja replies Akande, vows to take legal action

Former Oyo state governor Rasheed Ladoja has denied the accusations of Chief Bisi Akande relating to Bola Ige’s death. In an interview on Tuesday, Ladoja threatened to take legal action against Bisi Akande, stating that the claims are wrong.

Ladoja also demanded that Akande withdraw his statement and tender a public apology for his allegations. In addition, he insisted on taking all available options, including a lawsuit against the former Osun State governor.

Furthermore, the Otun Olubadan of Ibadan emphasized that he won’t back down unless Akande refutes his statement and apologizes publicly.

Recall that yesterday while speaking with newsmen, Ladoja denied the allegations of Bisi Akande. He explained that the former Attorney General was assassinated on 23 December 2001, 18 months before his tenure began as the governor of Oyo state on 29 May 2003.

Additionally, he stated that contrary to Akande’s claims, he didn’t withdraw the case as the elder statesman alleged. The Otun Olubadan argued that the Supreme Court of Nigeria prosecuted the case which is way beyond his jurisdiction.

Ladoja went on to describe Akande as an old man who has a history of making false claims. Likewise, the former Oyo State governor expressed his sadness over the demise of Ige, recalling their good old days together.

The controversy ignited over the weekend after Akande fired some allegations at Ladoja. In a podcast, Akande hinted that the high chief may hold some important details relating to Bola Ige’s assassination.

According to Akande, the former governor withdrew Bola Ige’s assassination case from the court. This statement has spurred hot responses from Ladoja, who could file a legal complaint against Akande.
