A suspected female ritualist identified as Toyin, who was lynched by an angry mob, has died. Toyin was apprehended during an attempt to abduct an eight-months-old baby in the Ebutte meat area of Lagos State.

Lagos Police Public Relations officer SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the development on Thursday.

Toyin was hospitalized at the Federal Medical center, Ebute-meta, after she was severely burnt by angry mob.

Toyin was allegedly trying to steal the baby before the eleven-year-old sister raised the alarm, causing residents of the community to apprehend Toyin. Toyin was taken under the bridge in the Ijora area, where the mob tried to lynch her to death. The police, however, intervened and took her away.
