Mbappe jilts Madrid, pens new contract with PSG

KylianParis Saint-Germain Poster boy Kylian Mbappe is set to pen a new contract after snubbing Florentino Perez and La Liga giant, Real Madrid. The French International agreed to extend his contract with PSG till 2025 halting the controversies surrounding his future.

As a result, Kylian Mbappe will pocket £300 million as a signing fee, with a whopping £100 million yearly salary after Tax. With the deal, Mbappe will become the highest-paid footballer in history.

Furthermore, the development will leave a bitter taste on Real Madrid Supremo, Florentino Perez who has been confident about landing Mbappe. Before now, there have been numerous reports about an agreement between the world cup winner and Perez to join Madrid. The deal seems like a marriage from heaven after Mbappe revealed that it’s a childhood dream to play for Real Madrid.

However, upon receiving the news about Mbappe’s renewal with PSG, Perez released a statement to congratulate him. Perez expressed his disappointment over the U-turn while wishing him the best in his future endeavors.

Meanwhile, sources in Real Madrid revealed that Mbappe has passed his chances of ever playing for the club. Reports indicated that the club will never move to sign Mbappe in the future irrespective of who’s the president.

Mbappe confirms the renewal

Additionally, the player has addressed the claims relating to his move to the Spanish capital. In his message to Perez, he said “I inform you that I have decided to stay at PSG, I want to thank you for the opportunity you have given me to play for Real Madrid. The club I have been a fan of since I was a child. I hope you understand my decision.”

Also, He said Mbappé’s official statement: “I am very happy. Here I can continue to grow within a club like Paris which gives everything to perform at the highest level”. “I’m also very happy to be able to continue in France, the country where I was born, grew up, and flourish.

Lastly, Upon receiving the news, La Liga threatened to report PSG to UEFA over the nature of the deal. Above all, Mbappe will continue in the French capital after scoring 168goals with 87assists in 216 appearances.
