The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has attempted to bring River State Governor, Nyesome Wike back to the party fold. According to the Chairman, the Board of Trustees of the party, Senator Walid Jubrin, the party has formed a reconciliation committee chaired by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

With the committee, the party intends to hold a meeting with Governor Nyesom Wike who is a critical stakeholder of the party. The Chairman BoT disclosed that efforts for reconciliation will commence once the party chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, and Atiku are back in the country.

The committee consists of Walid Jibrin, Atiku, Okowa, and Ayu, thirteen governors from the party, former governors, and ministers across the country. Also, Walid beseeched members of the party to embrace Ifeanyi Okowa as the Vice Presidential candidate of PDP.

The chairman encouraged members of the party to desist from any act that could hamper the chances of the PDP in the presidential election. He revealed that the party will not be working on Wike alone, it will be extended to other aggrieved members of the party.

Recall that there’s a reported division in the party following the emergence of Okowa over Nyesome Wike as the Vp candidate of PDP. Ever since they’ve been emerging rumors over the possibility of Wike working outside the party.
